We are a photographer, an editor, and a musician. Still photography &
web video is our jam. We like to work with a tailored crafty crew, fly in
planes, and are fond of problem solving. Our studio is located 10 min-
utes from the loop in Chicago’s Ukrainian Village neighbourhood.
Check it out ya’ll! Remember our guest blogger, Suzanne Sease? She is also a contributor to A Photo Editor. She is calling on Art Buyers and Art Producers for your fave...
I need a photographer who has deep human resources…
I need a photographer who can ask good questions…
I need a photographer who can simplify complexity …
I need a photographer...
Photographer, Ian Spanier, sent us a note asking about paid advertising by photographers. We love, love, love your promos, but understand that they can be expensive. Ian also...
Happy Halloween! As a treat, we have a NEW RUE! Check out the new issue at http://www.ruemag.com/october-2012/
TOMORROW. Can you say excited?!

This is Lyric. She’s Jenna’s (Hair&Makeup) daugther and a frequent visitor in the studio. Penny Lane adores her. We do too.
For over a year now we’ve been developing a site for photographers. We noticed there wasn’t a visual file delivery system, and being photographers, the biggest part of our job is visual. So we developed B Selects. Watch the video to learn a little more about why we did it.

Sometimes Matt Rice shoots us shooting. Happy T(GIF)!

Ahh!! A few months ago we wrote one of our favorite blogs, No Plastic Sleeves, to show them our Holiday 2012 promo and told them a little about our process from concept to shipment. We woke up this morning to find it featured! We couldn’t be more excited.
No Plastic Sleeves is such a wonderful curation of original ideas artists come up with for self promotion. If you’re a photographer and you have any questions about how to market yourself, you should check out their blog.

Winner Of The Epiphanie Giveaway! from The Barkers on Vimeo.
When we did our shoot for Epiphanie they asked us to create a second video where we explained a bit about how we do what we do. Because we are so hands on with our production process it made them curious. We hope you enjoy.

We show lots of our visual content and today we thought we would share another side of what we do.
When we started bringing on more and more video work, we began to hit the wall on music. Rights managed songs can be quite expensive, even when it is one of our personal projects. Royalty free songs… well as it is a great resource, the game isn’t about picking a good song its about finding a song. It’s an exhausting game of hide & seek.
Chris has been playing music since the age of 12, in fact that is how we actually met each other. Many of our friends are musicians, and talented ones at that. We use to talk about having a recording studio for Chris and a photo studio for me when we grew up. It seemed like a natural progression to start having Chris write music for our work. That snowballed into bringing on these talented musicians from our personal life to our professional life. Recently we added one of our good friends Sean McConnell as our official sound engineer, a week later we pulled out the hair and make up room and made a recording studio.
Here is the latest track we wrote for Travelon. We had 1 day to write, record and turnover.
We were over the moon when Ephiphanie came to us and asked us to shoot their fall campaign last year. We absolutely love their incredibly unique and ultra stylish camera bags and use them ourselves on a regular basis when we’re shooting on the fly and traveling. Everywhere we go we are complimented on how good they look, and then once we explain they are our camera bags, minds are BLOWN. They truly are the most beautiful camera bags we’ve ever seen.
We’re finally posting some of our favorite images from the shoot and Epiphanie is going to give a bag to one lucky winner who shares the video in this post to their site or on social media! Check out the rules for entry at the bottom of this post!
